Why are polar bears good swimmers?

Pupils in Years 3 and 4 have been finding the answer to this question and other polar bear facts as part of their topic work. They have been researching online the key characteristics of polar bears and using this information to write informative reports.

They have discovered that polar bears have longer heads than other bears and ears that fold in and these characteristics make them excellent swimmers.

Pupils then used their art and design skills to produce a 3D polar bear head so they could demonstrate these characteristics.
